About the project

As part of the future development of JFK Airport, TMS was retained as the lead project manager and engineering prime to design a new waterfront facility at the Airport on Bergen Basin. Commencing with the NEPA/SEQR process, TMS has managed the regulatory submissions and approvals to the NSYDEC and USACE, including all coordination with the USCG. Concurrently, all of the initial site investigations, surveys, hydro surveys, borings, and due diligence was performed by our team.

Once the project was determined to move ahead, TMS retained the civil engineer, MEP engineer, and environmental engineer to design the demolition of the existing site, reconstruction of the upland area, including all electrical, sanitary, and plumbing, design moorings in Jamaica Bay for vessels, and design the transloading facility capable of berthing 3000 ton barges, barge cranes, and with the ability to drive trucks on and off the waterside facilities.

Currently, the project is waiting the final USACE and DEC permits, and the 90 percent design package is complete. Awaiting TAA approval from the PANYNJ to commence procurement.
