Pedestrian pier extending into the water with railings and people walking or cycling on a cloudy day.

About the project

As part of a new development in Greenpoint, TMS Waterfront was contracted to upgrade the waterfront. The project included demolition of a derelict timber and concrete pier, removal of heavy debris on the shoreline, and grading of the site to required flood grades and shoreline design.

TMS Waterfront then installed concrete encased H-Piles with precast caps, planks and CIP deck elements for a waterfront access pier. This included a decorative deck with hand set pavers, minor planters and furniture, decorative lighting fixtures and railings. In addition, TMS Waterfront fabricated a steel barge ferry landing and installed it for NYCEDC ferry service at the end of the pier.

From land, TMS Waterfront then installed a riprap revetment for shoreline stabilization, pedestrian ramps for ADA access, security gates and fencing and a complete electrical service.

The project was a combination of our land based equipment and waterfront construction expertise. All elements were installed in accordance with NYCDPR specifications and approved by the NYCEDC at the completion of the project.
